Purpose
Yoshida Scholarship Foundation was founded through the advocacy of the late Mr.
Tadao Yoshida, founder of YKK group of companies, to bring able persons to the
nation and society as well as to contribute to society by financially assisting
and providing students of excellent nature with equal opportunities of education.

Activities
(1) Student loans and grants of scholarship
I.Student loans
This is available only in Japan for Japanese.
Funds are loaned to students of excellence both in academic achievements and personality
as well as in good health who are recognized to have difficulty in raising funds
for education.
Applicants must have a recommendation by a college, university or graduate school
specified by the foundation.
II.Grants of scholarship
With an aim to bring up able persons who can adapt to internationalization with
broad outlook, scholarship grants are rendered to Jpanese students attending foreign colleges,
universities, graduate schools or research institutions abroad as well as to foreign
students attending Japanese colleges, universities or graduate schools at their
own expenses.
The applicant student must have recommendation by a college, university, graduate
school in Japan specified by the foundation with his/her academic advisor of the school
he/she will be attending already appointed and must be recognized to have sufficient
ability and knowledge of the language in conducting his/her study, investigation
or research at college or graduate school without difficulty.
Also, Japanese students specializing in natural science and attending Japanese
graduate schools which are specified by the foundation are qualified for the scholarship.
